Institut Ramon Llull director and IFA secretary-general signed the agreement at an online meeting on January 20th. It is the first steady collaboration agreement between the two institutions.

Institut Ramon Llull and IFA share the same goal – the international promotion of culture, therefore they are establishing a collaboration and cooperation context that is going to benefit communication between the two institutions. The agreement will promote the transfer of data, experiences and skills as well as mutual learning within the areas of shared interest. This arrangement is also meant to promote specific projects related to cultural dissemination and research, and organizing both online or face-to-face events within Catalan and German speaking areas. It also raises a partnership with the residencies network Faberllull.

In order to follow up the development of this contract, a joint mixed commission could be constituted, composed of representatives from both sides. It will establish its own operational rules by agreement.

“It is a pleasure to collaborate with institutions that promote German culture. In 2007 we were ‘literature guest’ in Frankfurt and since 2009 we have had a permanent delegation in Berlin. Since then, we have developed collaboration projects with dozens of German organizations in order to bolster mutual knowledge and promoting our language and culture among German citizens. We hope this agreement will act as a collaboration frame and will sow the seeds of future projects.”
